Q: How much will I need to invest?
A: This is by far the most commonly asked question, and rightly so! We are always upfront with the cost of our services. Prices for various packages can be found on our packages page, but the truth is, each wedding is different, and involves different requirements based on your individual needs. The best way to get a quote is to contact us and give as much information as you can about your wedding day, and what parts of the day are important to you. We do offer set packages that give you an idea of what you are likely to pay. Remember, you get what you pay for, some choose to shop at Selfridges or M&S and not because they are the cheapest!
Q: Do we need to arrange a meeting?
A: Yes, we would always recommend meeting you videographer, they may be with you for most of the day and you need to know you will get on with them. You will also have an opportunity to see their work, sample DVDs are a great way of filtering out the quality and style you are looking for but always try to view a complete wedding to make sure it meets with your expectations. There are many examples on our website and our showreel DVD has extracts from actual weddings, when looking at samples ask yourself, does the video include everything you would want/expect to see?
Q: What if we can’t meet before booking?
A: Many of our brides and grooms live and work outside of our area and are unable to meet with us beforehand, this is not a problem as we have many years of experience and know the right questions to ask to make sure your day is perfect. Often we are recommended by photographers, venues or past couple’s, this is the best way to be sure you have found the right videographer.
Q: Do I need to pay a deposit?
A: A booking fee of £200.00 is payable to secure your day and will be deducted from your total fee.
Q: When do I need to pay?
A: You do not have to pay until 30 days before your wedding, we accept credit & debit card payment as well as cheques or bank transfers (BACS).
Q: Do you travel?
A: Yes, we cover all the major cities, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and the whole of the UK and have crew based in the Northeast and Midlands ready to video your wedding wherever you are. Our crew also have experience filming weddings throughout Europe
Q: Why not shoot it yourself? My uncle has a video camera, why pay for a professional?
A: A family member or friend could video your wedding however, it’s unlikely they will have the necessary skills and experience. You need to be able to anticipate what is coming next and be in the right place at the right time to capture those all important moments that are all too often lost in an instant, this only comes with years of experience. What would their backup plan be if something went wrong, they may even forget to press record! Then there is the editing, an unedited video from a camcorder is unlikely to be inspiring or even watchable, a professional will often spend many days editing your video and will deliver a DVD or Blu-ray disc that is professionally packaged and compiled with a menu and chapters.
Q: How long might I expect to wait for my DVD?
A: It can take between 10 to 14 weeks depending on the time of year before we deliver your discs. We limit the total number of weddings we film each year so that we can dedicate time to carefully crafting your video. We believe in quality and not quantity, always ask how long you might be expected to wait for your final DVD, too long could be an indication of quantity and not quality.
Q: What if the unexpected happens, who would film my wedding?
A: There are six members of our team and only four are ever booked on any given day, this means we always have at least two fully qualified and experienced cameramen on standby should the unexpected happen. Always ask your videographer what their contingency plan is and do they have the appropriate public and professional indemnity insurance in place.
Q: Do I need licence to dub music on our wedding video or to film the ceremony?
A: Yes, however, we include the licence for you so that you don’t have to pay additional fees or be hassled with finding the necessary licences. The licence allows us to film any live music playing at your wedding, a live band or a DJ and to dub your choice of music onto your wedding video. Check your videographer has the necessary licence in place as some churches may refuse the videographer to record the ceremony if they don’t.
